WHAT IS RESILIENCE?

re·sil·ience (noun)​: the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

My name is Raylene, and I currently live in San Luis Obispo, California. For years, I noticed a lack of environments and communities that encouraged women to experience fitness and enjoy the gym - Resilience is my modest contribution to address this situation. 

Women are resilient by nature. Movement is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to build resilience day by day, one workout at a time. That way, when life goes sideways, we already have the foundation of mental toughness built from the outside in. Choosing to workout means choosing to put our bodies and minds in a brief period of discomfort. Consistently making this choice has had a ripple effect on my life that benefits me beyond words. I want to share this feeling with other women who seek a sense of stability, confidence, and purpose in their life.

I spent many years in trial-and-error, learning how to move my body, grow muscles, lose fat, improve endurance, eat "right" - you name it, I've tried it - so I want to streamline the process for other women in the same boat, or who aren't sure where to start. I know first-hand how frustrating, intimidating, and overwhelming working out can feel. Resilience makes it simple.
